The laundry dryer has a heat pump (4) with an alternatively rotating drum (2) for receiving the dried clothes, a generator of the hot air, which circulates within the interior of the drum, and a blower (6) for blowing the hot air into the drum. A heat pump (4) has housing (4'), in which a section (8) is arranged. A hot and dampish air flow (T1) leaving from the drum is supplied into the section and is cooled there. The housing has another section (8'), in which a cooled and dry air flow (T2) leaving from the former section is supplied.
