<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device enabling execution of a cleaning process in an appropriate time period (length of time). <P>SOLUTION: In an image formation device, a recovery member 8 is provided associated with each photosensitive drum 5. After transferring toner from the photosensitive drum 5 to a paper sheet P, the recovery member 8 collects a deposit adhering on the photosensitive drum 5. Through execution of a cleaning process through a cleaning time period, the deposit collected by the recovery member 8 is transferred through the photosensitive drum 5 onto a sheet conveyance belt 11. In order to determine the cleaning time period, a toner image to be transferred onto the paper sheet P is divided into a plurality of regions in a main scanning direction, and a used amount of the toner in each region is obtained.
