<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine that monitors whether the number of prize balls having entered a variable prize device reaches a predetermined number or not, using the same determination value, for each of a plurality of kinds of special game statuses (jackpot statuses) having different opening times of the variable prize device. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine includes: a first special game status-generating unit for generating a first special game status in which the opening time of the variable prize device in each round of the special game status, is set to a first opening time; a second special game status-generating unit for generating a second special game status in which the opening time of the variable prize device in each round of the special game status, is set to be shorter than the first opening time; and a unit for monitoring the number of prize balls which monitors whether the number of prize balls having entered the variable prize device reaches the predetermined number or not in each round of the special game status.
