PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polystyrene-based resin foamed sheet having high heat resistance and controlling odor.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the polystyrene-based resin foamed sheet, comprising extrusion-foaming a resin composition comprising the polystyrene-based resin and a polyphenylene ether-based resin and containing the polyphenylene ether-based resin in an amount of 10-50 pts.mass per 100 pts.mass of the total amount of the polystyrene-based resin and the polyphenylene ether-based resin to produce the polystyrene-based resin foamed sheet, is characterized in that the value obtained by subtracting the lowest temperature from the highest temperature in a temperature range from the center of a breaker plate to the outer peripheral portion is controlled to ≤20°C in the temperature of the resin, when the melted product prepared by melting the resin composition passes through the breaker plate.
