摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activated FT synthesis catalyst excellent in reaction activity without using an expensive metallic species such as rhenium, a producing method therefor, and a method for producing hydrocarbons using the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The activated catalyst for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction comprises: a carrier containing silica and 0.5-14 mass% of zirconium oxide with respect to the mass of the carrier; and 10-40 mass% of cobalt metal and cobalt oxides in terms of tricobalt tetraoxide with respect to the mass of the catalyst, the cobalt metal and cobalt oxides being supported by the carrier. The degree of reduction of the cobalt atoms as shown in formula (1) is 75-93%, and the hydrogen gas adsorption amount per unit mass of the catalyst at 100&deg;C is 0.40-1.0 ml/g.
