<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning sound generator to be attached to a moving vehicle such as an automobile, the warning sound generator generating a warning sound that hardly impedes a driver from enjoying an audio source. <P>SOLUTION: A warning sound generator comprises: a beat detection part 8 that detects a beat of an audio source; a warning level determination part 6 that determines a warning level; a warning signal generation part 12 that generates a warning sound with controlled frequency, amplitude, and beat according to the detected beat and the determined warning level; a control part 11 that controls a filter that cuts bandwidth around the frequency of the warning sound from the audio source by an amount corresponding to the warning level; and generating means that generates the audio source and warning sound.
