<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phamaceutical composition (an anti-inflammatory drug for inflammatory bowel disease) which is effective for improving inflammatory bowel disease whose treatment has been difficult heretofore, particularly, ulcerative colitis, or for maintaining its batement conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The anti-inflammatory drug for inflammatory bowel disease includes a water-soluble vitamin E derivative represented by general formula (I) or its pharmalogically allowable salt as an active constituent: [wherein, R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>are same or different, and denote a hydrogen atom or a 1 to 3C lower alkyl group; R<SB POS="POST">3</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">5</SB>are different, and denote a hydrogen atom or an S-bonded SH compound or its ester; and R<SB POS="POST">4</SB>denotes a hydroxyl group, N-substituted amino acid or its ester or amine]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
