<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of reducing basic torque by taking an input member as a separated structure in a rotary device for transmitting and braking rotation torque through magnetic viscous fluid. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary device includes a rotary shaft for rotating around an axial line, an input rotor for rotating integrally with the rotary shaft therearound, an output rotor for rotating around the axial line and facing the input rotor with respect to the axial direction, and a magnetic field generation means for generating magnetic force through energization. Magnetic viscous fluid is charged in a clearance between the input rotor and output rotor. An input side rotor contains a first member coupled with a shaft and a second member coming into contact with a clearance in which the magnetic viscous fluid is charged. The rotary device develops viscosity of the magnetic viscous fluid to transmit the rotation torque of the shaft to the output rotor while engaging the first member of the input rotor with the second member thereof by magnetic force during energization, and separates the first and second members of the input rotor during non-energization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
