<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a surge voltage by generating a trigger signal with a voltage Vtrig that starts discharging a three-pole arrester at time ts shorter than time tc in which an input voltage Vin reaches a DC discharge start voltage Vc1 of the three-pole arrester and by improving the responsibility (the performance limiting a surge voltage Es at shorter time) even when a lightning surge penetrates an external signal cable. <P>SOLUTION: A surge voltage limiting device 10 comprises two circuits; a trigger signal generation circuit and a surge voltage limiting circuit that are connected in parallel between a first input terminal 10c and a second input terminal 10d. The trigger signal generation circuit outputs a trigger signal having a rising edge steeper than that of an input voltage Vin and having a voltage Vtrig exceeding the input voltage Vin to the surge voltage limiting circuit when a surge voltage Es penetrates an external signal cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
