The battery (T) has a control device (1) for entering operating data, and a radio communication interface (10) i.e. Bluetoothcommunication interface, for exchanging operating data toward an electronic control installation (5) of a mobile machine (A) i.e. industrial lorry. The operating data is detected by the control device without the need for transmission by wire during normal load mode and/or discharge mode of the battery that is connected electrically to the mobile machine. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling and monitoring a discharge mode of a traction battery.
