PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument and material preparation support apparatus for efficiently performing a preparatory work of medical instruments and materials.

SOLUTION: In a medical instrument and material preparation support apparatus 100 for supporting a picking work of medical instruments and materials used in each medical practice, a device attribute storage part 102 stores a medical instrument and material identifier of the medical instrument and material and an image of the medical instrument and material. A similar instrument and material storage part 104 stores information of medical instruments and materials which are similar to each other. An instrument and material list acquisition part acquires an instrument and material list being a list of medical instruments and materials used in medical practice. An instruction accepting part accepts a designation input by a user which designates one of medical instruments and materials included in the instrument and material list. A similar instrument and material acquisition part acquires a medical instrument and material identifier of a medical instrument and material similar to the designated medical instrument and material designated by the user from the similar instrument and material storage part 104. A display generation part 132 reads out an image of the designated medical instrument and material and an image of the similar medical instrument and material from the instrument and material attribute storage part 102 to generate a display for displaying these images side by side.
