<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission system capable of determining an optimum frequency during power transmission for efficient power transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmission system comprises: an inverter section 130 that converts a DC voltage into an AC voltage with a predetermined frequency before output; a transmission antenna 140 into which an AC voltage from the inverter section 130 is input; and a transmission control section 150 that controls a frequency of the AC voltage output by the inverter section 130, and transmits electric energy from the transmission antenna 140 to an opposing reception antenna through an electromagnetic field.
