PURPOSE: An auxiliary maintenance on a print head face plate surface is provided to efficiently remove ink residues possible to be generated from a specific ink such as ultraviolet curable gel ink. CONSTITUTION: A method for cleaning residues on a print head face plate is as follows. A fluid is spread on a print head face plate(12). The fluid comprises at least one between monomer and oligomer. A surface of a print head maintenance system and the print head face plate are touched. The surface of the print head maintenance system is moved across the print head face plate by using the surface of the print head maintenance system being touched to the print head face plate and the fluid on the face plate.
