PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing notched steel bars is provided to prevent a failure in forming joints due to unintended twisting during rolling and enable stable bending. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing notched steel bars is as follows. A rolled material(R) is heated and passed through a plurality of rolling mills to obtain a notched steel bar with thread-shaped joints. The rolled material is twisted opposite to the direction of turns of threads with a twist guide device before the final rolling for forming the thread-shaped joints. The rolled material is guided in four directions with horizontal and vertical guide rolls at the entrance of the final rolling machine.
