Fastening device and adaptor for vehicle spare wheel

An adaptor 12 is provided for fastening a spare wheel in a spare wheel recess 1 of a vehicle. The adaptor 12 has a conical section 14 with an opening 16 for guiding a fastening bolt 8 through. The longitudinal axis of the conical section 14 is provided offset to the longitudinal axis of the opening 16. The invention is aimed at preventing detachment of the spare wheel 4 during an impact from the rear.
