<p>A bollard apparatus eg for use as a vehicle barrier include one or more bollard members 15, and one or more separate foot members 304-307, 401, 402 etc. each adapted for ground engagement by placement upon (or shallow-mount embedment within) a ground or floor surface, eg of an upper level of a building such as a car park. To each of the foot members is fixed at least one upstanding bollard member 15. A collar 15B is positioned within a through-opening 703 in a respective foot member and is fixed to the base end of a bollard tube 15A and circumscribes the bollard tube. The collar 15B is upstanding from the surface of foot member from which the bollard member is also upstanding. The outer diameter of the collar 15B is least at its head end, eg by being tapered. The barrier units 304-307 thus formed may be interconnected by steel cables 202-205 passing through guide conduits 19 along the edges 20 of the foot plates and secured at their ends to anchorage posts 200, 201. Alternatively, the barrier units may be interconnected by chains (404-411, figs.7-9).</p> |
