<p>A partial discharge analysis (PDA) coupling device 100 includes: a connector 110 electrically connecting a first coupling capacitor 120 and a second coupling capacitor 130; a first conductive rod 125 electrically connecting the first coupling capacitor 120 to a high voltage input 140; a second conductive rod 135 electrically connecting the second coupling capacitor 130 to ground 150; a current transformer 160 substantially surrounding a portion of the second conductive rod 135 for generating a pulse signal; and a reference signal generator 164 adjacent to the current transformer 160 for generating a reference signal in phase with the pulse signal. The reference signal generator may be a second current transformer or an impedance network of parallel Zener diodes and capacitors (figure 2, not shown). The coupling device may be used in partial discharge analysis of motors or generators.</p> |
