Method of treating infracted myocardial tissue includes, the concentration of SDF-1 protein in the infracted tissue. The concentration of stem cells in the peripheral blood of the infracted tissue is also increased. The number of stem cells in the peripheral blood is increased while the concentration of SDF-1 in the infracted tissue is increased.
