A cavity insert for a preform injection mold. The cavity insert has a tubular inner part (8; 108) and a tubular outer part (9). The inner part (8; 108) has an inner surface (10) bounding a product cavity (3) and having an outer surface (11; 111) facing and contacting an inner surface (12) of the outer part (9). The inner part (8; 108) and the outer part (9) are of different materials. The material of the inner part (8; 108) has a specific thermal conductivity higher than the specific thermal conductivity of the material of the outer part (9).
