摘要 PURPOSE: A vibration control device and method for a mold in a continuous casting process are provided to ensure uniform solidification by forming a uniform powder layer between the mold and a solidified shell even in the initial stage of casting. CONSTITUTION: A vibration control device for a mold in a continuous casting process comprises a memory(110), a casting speed detection unit(150), and a control unit(190). The memory stores one or more of operation parameters including a target casting speed, the basicity of mold powder, and the normal vibration amplitude. The casting speed detection unit detects the casting speed of slab continuously casted in a mold(30). The control unit determines an initial vibration amplitude according to the basicity of mold powder stored in the memory, determines a casting speed limit point using a predetermined target casting speed and a normal vibration amplitude, vibrates the mold with the initial vibration amplitude, and linearly reduces the vibration amplitude of the mold to the casting speed limit point when the casting speed detected by the casting speed detection unit increases.
