<p>PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission for a vehicle is provided to mount a miniature clutch by directly connecting an input shaft to a planetary carrier with the operation of a clutch. CONSTITUTION: A forward and reverse controller combines a single pinion planetary gear set and a double pinion planetary gear set. A planetary gear set(PG) includes four rotation elements. The four rotation elements are a first and second sun gears(S1,S2), a planetary carrier(PC), and a ring gear(R). A first brake(B1) is interposed between the first sun gear and a transmission housing. A second brake(B2) is interposed between the ring gear and the transmission housing.</p> |
