PURPOSE: An image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to offer an optimal stereoscopic image without the limit of distance enabling to see and listen. CONSTITUTION: An image display panel(210) displays a multi view point image. A parallax barrier(220) is arranged on the front side of the image display panel and creates a plurality of viewing zones corresponding to the multi view point image according to a display pattern. A controller(230) operates with an image of the image display panel and changes the intensity of voltage applied to a blocking area of the parallax barrier. A parameter acquiring part(240) obtains parameter from the image of the image display panel. A driving part(250) is electrically connected to the parallax barrier and changes a transition range of the blocking area by supplying or blocking driving voltage.
