PURPOSE: A formulation containing an Acanthopanacis cortex fermentation and an extract thereof is provided to reduce hangover and to enhance functionality. CONSTITUTION: An Acanthopanacis cortex fermentation for improving liver function is prepared by controlling moisture content of Acanthopanacis cortex, heating Acanthopanacis cortex, inoculating mushroom spawn to an Acanthopanacis cortex natural medium, and fermenting. The natural medium is prepared by sterilizing selected Acanthopanacis cortex at 115-125 Deg. C. for 50-120 minutes and cooling at room temperature. A formulation for improving liver function contains the extract of the Acanthopanacis cortex fermentation as an active ingredient.
