PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling the RPM of a correcting unit are provided to maintain similar rotation speed of upper and lower correcting rolls and thus to prevent the deviation of a material from the correcting rolls. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling the RPM of a correcting unit comprises a drive motor(30) which rotates upper and lower correcting rolls(1,2) of a correcting unit, a control unit(10) which is connected to the drive motor and controls the rotation of the drive motor through current control including comparison between a predetermined current value and a measured current value, and a current sensor(20) which is installed between the control unit and the drive motor and measures current applied to the drive motor.
