The device (30) has an annular tire supporting structure (31) mounted around a wheel rim (10) and divided into two ring sectors (32) in a form of a circle arc. The sectors are surmounted by a radial outer support casing (34) for supporting the tire. Locking wedges (33) lock the beads against the flanges, which connect an annular supporting structure to the beads. The support casing incorporates a ring sector holding unit for opposing axial displacement of the sectors under lateral forces during shock while running in an inflated state or during flat running. An independent claim is also included for a mounted assembly without air chamber for a motor vehicle.
