PURPOSE: A polypropylene-based porous separation membrane is provided to be suitable for a separation membrane for a battery because of excellent mechanical strength and thermal properties. CONSTITUTION: A polypropylene-based porous separation membrane comprises 100.0 weight% of a mixture resin of propylene copolymer and a propylene homopolymer with the melting point of 155°Cor more, and 20-60 weight% of filler. The melt index of the homoprolyene is 1-2 gr/minute, the average molecular weight is 1×10^5 - 1×10^6 and the comprised amount is 70-100 weight% based on the mixture resin. The propylene copolymer is an ethylene-propylene copolymer of which ethylene content is 1-15 weight%. The melt index of the propylene copolymer is 2-5 gr/minute, the weight average molecular weight is 1×10^5 - 1×10^6 and the comprised amount is 0-30 weight% based on the mixture resin.
