A lens (1) with a transparent lens body (5) has a cavity (40) which projects inwards from a back surface (10) of the lens body (5) along an optical axis perpendicular to a base plane, which cavity (40) receives a light source (70). Refractive boundaries are formed at the inner surface of the cavity (40) and the front surface of the lens body (5) and a reflector (50) is located in the lens body (5) which deflect light emitted upwards from the cavity with respect to the optical axis in a transverse direction. The lens may thus redistribute light from the light source to maximise the amount of light emitted in a desired direction. |
