PURPOSE: A gel composition for preventing Varroa jacobsoni is provided to continuously maintain drug effect and formulation at high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A gel composition for preventing Varroa Jacobsoni contains 20.0-31.8 wt% of essential oil, organic acid, or a mixture thereof as an active ingredient and is made of emulsifier, thickening agent, and crosslinking stabilizer. The essential oil or organic acid is menthol, geraniol, linalool, thymol, camphor, eugenol, eucalyptus oil, neem oil, formic acid, oxalic acid, acetic acid. The gel composition contains 20.0-22.7 wt% of thymol, 2.7-3.5 wt% of tween20, 2.3-3.0 wt% of propylene glycol, 2.1-2.3 wt% of carrageenan, 0.2 wt% of potassium chloride, and 70.0-71.1 wt% of distilled water. |
