PURPOSE: A water treatment apparatus for an area for an area without water supply is provided to improve the convenience of the area by cost effectively purifying surface water such as river water and valley water. CONSTITUTION: A water treatment apparatus(100) includes a water purifying tank(110), a first filtering layer, a second filtering layer, a water introducing pipe(114), and an underwater motor(150). The water purifying tank is buried under the ground. The lower part of the first filtering layer is fixed to the bottom of the water purifying tank and is spaced apart from the inner wall of the water purifying tank. The second filtering layer is positioned in the first filtering layer. The lower part of the second filtering layer is fixed to the bottom of the water purifying tank. The water introducing pipe supplies surface water into a first space(S1) between the inner wall of the water purifying tank and the first filtering layer. A second space(S2) is formed in the second filtering layer, and the underwater motor is installed in the second space. The underwater motor generates transversal pressures from the first space to the second space. Water introduced into the first space passes through the first filtering layer and the second filtering layer to be filtered by the transversal pressures.
