The invention relates to a water holding vessel 110 of flexible material that is worn around the neck of a user. The vessel comprises a main part 112 of a flexible material, which is capable of defining, a chamber 118 to hold the water. The vessel has a mounting means 120 in the form of an aperture extending through the main part of a size to receive through it at least the head of a user, so that they may carry the water holding vessel around their necks. The main part may comprise a cushioning region to cushion the head of the user wherein the cushioning region is isolated by means of sealing portions extending across the main part. The cushioning region may be inflatable. The main part preferably comprises an inlet opening having an inlet connector to which a water feed conduit can be connected.
