PURPOSE: An epoxy resin is provided to have high flame retardancy without harming workability such as impregnation, etc by accepting nitrogen into an epoxy resin skeleton by using a specific nitrogen-containing compound. CONSTITUTION: An epoxy resin is obtained by reacting a phosphorous compound indicated in chemical formula 1, cyanulic acid and an apoxy resin. In chemical formula 1, X is hydrogen or a compound indicated in chemical formula 2, n is 0 or 1, and R1 and R2 is a C1-6 hydrocarbon group or can be a cyclic form together with phosphorus atoms. In chemical formula 2, A is a C6-20 arylene group and/or triyl group. An epoxy resin composition is obtained by mixing functional groups of 0.4-2.0 equivalent of a curing agent and epoxy groups of 1 equivalent of the epoxy resin. |
