PURPOSE: A damage detecting device for a conveyor belt is provided to prevent the damage of a belt part from getting worse by detecting the damage of the belt part beforehand. CONSTITUTION: A damage detecting device for a conveyor belt comprises a belt part(10), retaining parts(20), supporting parts(30), elastic parts(40), and sensor parts. The retaining parts contact to a damaged face of the belt part and move away from the belt part. The supporting parts movably support the retaining parts. The elastic parts are arranged in the supporting parts and provide elastic force to the retaining parts. The sensor parts detect the movement of the retaining parts.
