PURPOSE: A planetary gear train of a vehicle automatic transmission is provided to a shift level of forward 8speeds by mixing a three planetary gear sets with six friction members. CONSTITUTION: An input shaft(IS) receives power of an engine. An output gear outputs rotational power. A first planetary gear set(PG1) is comprised of a first sun gear, a first planetary carrier, and a first ring gear. A second planetary gear(PG2) set is comprised of a second sun gear, a second planetary carrier, and a second ring gear. A third planetary gear set(PG3) is comprised of a third sun gear, a third planetary carrier, and a third ring gear. A first rotary shaft is connected to transmission housing by being connected to the first sun gear. A second rotary shaft is connected to the first planetary carrier.
