PURPOSE: A location management system and method thereof are provided to automatically record the current location of a portable terminal in three-dimensional space by enabling a user to turn ignition off. CONSTITUTION: Remote controllers(110~160) control a portable terminal to generate a specific signal which determines whether location information is recorded in the memory unit of the portable terminal. When effective event data is received from the remote controller, the portable terminal obtains the location information of the portable terminal. The portable terminal stores the effective event data and time information in the memory unit of the portable terminal.
