<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology enabling maintenance and operation of an apparatus from a portable terminal, even if access information for the apparatus is unknown. <P>SOLUTION: An information distribution server 1 transmits photographing operation screen data to a portable terminal 2 with a camera function. Receiving the data, the portable terminal 2 with a camera function displays a photographing operation screen to accept a photographing operation from a user and transmits imaging data of an apparatus 3. The information distribution server 1 detects a code symbol 6 from the imaging data, specifies the apparatus 3 to which the code symbol is added, generates setting operation screen data in which the apparatus-related information of the apparatus 3 is displayed and to which an operation program is plugged in, and transmits the generated data. Receiving the data, the portable terminal 2 with a camera function displays a setting operation screen to accept a setting operation from the user and transmits the operation data for the apparatus 3.
