<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining more stable and more excellent transfer performance by simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 100, a transfer member 5 comprises: an elastic member 51; and a sheet member 52 held between a belt body 7 and the elastic member 51 and contacting with the belt body 7 at a surface.
