PURPOSE: A method for processing signals is provided to prevent additional interference to be strengthened due to an equalizer by adding additional artificial noise to an equalizer-adaptive signal. CONSTITUTION: Signals and individual data frames are modulated transmitted as a symbol string. A received signal is equalized by an equalizer(502). The equalizer uses a received sampled signal as an input signal. Adaptation of the equalizer is controlled by a protocol. An adaptation step begins and terminates with a state machine(500). The equalizer performs multiple sampling for the received signal. The signal is transmitted through point-to-point connection. The signal is transmitted through a bus-system. Coefficient sets(514) of one or more adaptive filters are replaced.
