The invention relates to an exhaust gas system (10) for a motor vehicle, comprising a metering device (14) for introducing a reducing agent for the exhaust gas aftertreatment in an exhaust gas line (12). At least one ventilating element (18, 26, 28, 34) is used to introduce a gas (24, 36) into an exhaust gas line (12) portion that can be supplied with the reducing agent. A higher concentration of the gas (24, 36) can be set in a portion region near a wall (22) of the exhaust gas line (12) than in an exhaust gas line (12) portion region that is further away from the wall (22) by means of the at least one ventilating element (18, 26, 28, 34). The invention further relates to a method for operating such an exhaust gas system (10).
