PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and efficiently form an active material layer on a surface of a belt-like base material when manufacturing an electrode.

SOLUTION: An electrode manufacturing device 1 comprises: a wind-out roll 10 for winding out belt-like metal foil M; a coating part 11 for coating an active material mixture to both surfaces of the metal foil M; a drying part 12 for forming an active material layer by drying the active material mixture on the metal foil M; and a winding roll 13 for winding the metal foil M. The drying part 12 includes a normal pressure drying part 12a and a vacuum drying part 12b at the front arranged in series in a conveyance direction of the metal foil M, and non-contact sealing materials 32 and 35 for keeping the vacuum of the vacuum drying part 12b are provided on an entrance and an exit of the vacuum drying part 12b where the metal foil M is to pass through. A dry air chamber 4 is arranged through the non-contact sealing material 35 on the exit side of the vacuum drying part 12b, and the winding roll 13 is provided inside the dry air chamber 4.
