<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a function of protecting information stored in an operation implement, in an operation support system. <P>SOLUTION: The operation support system includes: a data communication line 4B for forming a communication channel when an operation implement is mounted; an arm side processing part 4a for communicating with the operation implement; and an authentication communication line 4A for transmitting authentication information. The operation implement includes: a memory 8a for control for storing information; a data communication line 5B for forming a communication channel by being communicably connected with the data communication line 4B when mounted; and an operation implement side processing part 7a for reading the information stored in the memory 8a for control in response to a request from the arm side processing part 4a through the data communication line 5B, transmitting it to the arm side processing part 4a, and identifying whether or not the authentication information matches with authenticated authentication information.
