<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual identification device, an individual identification method, and a program capable of identifying an individual article on the basis of a feature appearing in printing. <P>SOLUTION: Features different according to printing conditions (an individual printer, ink, temperature, humidity, and other factors) appear in printing. The features are manifested by image processing to identify an individual article. Namely, a feature point is extracted by applying image processing such as binarization processing to reference image data obtained by optically reading a printing part assigned to an article to be set as a reference, and the feature point is stored as reference feature point data. Moreover, an image is read in the same manner also for a printing part assigned to an article to be identified and a feature point is extracted by applying the same image processing thereto. Then, it is determined whether or not the article to be identified and the reference article are the same individuals by comparing extracted object feature point data and the stored reference feature point data with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
