<p>The present invention configures an electromagnetic clutch that reaches a blocked state by changing the winding radius of a wrap spring and that, in the blocked state, suppresses wasteful consumption of energy and wear of the wrap spring. The electromagnetic clutch is provided with: a drive member that connects to a shaft and supports one end of the wrap spring; and an operation member that is fitted around the outside of the shaft and supports the other end of the wrap spring. The electromagnetic clutch is provided with an armature that integrally rotates with the shaft at an intermediate position with respect to the drive member and the operation member and that can move along the axis of rotation (X). After the operation member has been adhered to by means of the electrification of an electromagnetic solenoid, the positional relationship of a secondary hole of the armature and the primary hole of the operation member is set in a manner so that the rotation of the drive member resulting from dynamic inertia is allowed, and so that the armature is caused to adhere to the operation member in the state of the wrap spring being separated from the inner surface of an input pulley.</p> |
