<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump reducible in physique and weight. <P>SOLUTION: The high pressure pump 10A comprises a plunger 51, a bottomed tube-shaped cylinder 13 for housing the plunger 51, and a lower housing 11 into with the cylinder 13 is inserted. An annular protrusion 12 which protrudes in the radial outside direction and makes an upper face 121 abut on a lower surface 111b of a cylinder holding part 111 is formed at the outside wall 132b of the cylinder 13. A pressurization chamber 14 is formed on an internal bottom wall 131c of a bottom 131, an inner wall 132a of a tubular part 132 and an upper end face 515 of a large-diameter part 511 of the plunger 51. By this arrangement, a force acting on the bottom 131 of the cylinder 13 acts on only the lower housing 11 which abuts on the protrusion 12. Accordingly, the rigidity is not needed for the upper housing 15 and a cover 31 on which upward operation forces generated by the pressure of fuel do not act, so that the physique and weight of the high pressure pump 10A can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
