<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a continuous fermentation, capable of stably separating a filtrate and reducing a wastewater treatment cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for production of chemicals by continuous fermentation includes: a fermentation process of converting a fermentation raw material into a chemicals-containing fermentate by fermentation culture of microorganisms; a membrane separation process of collecting chemicals as a filtrate from the fermentate by a separation membrane module 2; a concentration process of passing the filtrate through a reverse osmosis membrane to obtain a permeated water and a concentrated liquid containing the chemicals; and a refining process of enhancing the purity of the chemicals by distillation of the concentrated liquid. The method is characterized in that at least a part of the permeated water of the reverse osmosis membrane or the condensate in the distillation process is used as a cleaning liquid for the reverse osmosis membrane by circulating the cleaning liquid or immersing therein at the primary side of the membrane to clean the reverse osmosis membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
