The invention relates to a fuel cell that comprises two stacks (C1, C2) of electrochemical cells, a heat-management system (12) consisting of a circuit (16, 18) for circulating a coolant within the stacks, each stack of electrochemical cells being subjected to a clamping force applied by a first end plate (2) common to both stacks and a second end plate (4), each stack (C1, C2) comprising at least one channel for circulating the coolant, two pumps (P1, P2) being provided for circulating the coolant in the channels and a chamber (24) being formed in the common end plate (2), the two pumps (P1, P2) and the channels extending through the stacks being connected to said chamber. Valves (28, 30) are provided between each of the pumps (P1, P2) and the chamber (24), the communication with a pump (P1, P2) being cut off in the absence of coolant from said pump (P1, P2). |
