The purpose of the present invention is to achieve a stator for a rotating electric machine that can simplify the process of winding onto a stator core and can increase the space factor of a coil regardless of slot shape. A stator (1) for a rotating electric machine includes a stator core (2) with a plurality of slots (22), and a coil (3) attached to the stator core (2), wherein the coil (3) is formed by wrapping a covered bundle of conducting wires (4) around the stator core (2); the covered bundle of conducting wires (4) is structured such that the outer circumference (42a) of a bundle of conducting wires (42) formed by combining a plurality of conducting wires (41) is covered by a flexible insulating covering material (43); a plurality of covered bundles of conducting wires (4) is disposed in each slot (22); and, among the plurality of covered bundles of conducting wires (4), neighboring bundles of conducting wires (4) are disposed so as to be in mutual contact. |
