<p>This device for fabricating a thin section sample is provided with: a cutter accommodation unit for accommodating a plurality of cutters in order to improve the degree of freedom in selecting cutter material and inhibiting an increase in the burden on the worker; a sample block cutting section capable of holding a cutter and thinly sectioning a surface layer portion of a sample block; and a cutter conveyor for conveying a cutter accommodated in the cutter accommodation unit to the sample block cutting section, and switching the cutter held in the sample block cutter. The sample block cutter is configured to be capable of movement between a position that allows thin sectioning in which the edge of the cutter blade faces diagonally downward and a switching position in which the edge of the cutter blade faces horizontal or diagonally upward. The cutter conveyor is configured so that the cutter held in the sample block cutter is switched when the sample block cutter is positioned in the switching position.</p>
