This invention is provided with: a display (5) having a text display region (52) capable of displaying a plurality of characters and a text input region (51) provided with six input frames (511-1 to 511-6); and an input unit (2) for receiving input of handwritten characters, the input unit being arranged so as to overlap the six input frames (511-1 to 511-6). A handwritten character is inputted into the input unit (2) corresponding to an input frame (511), whereby the inputted character is displayed in the input frame (511) and the inputted character is added to and displayed in the text display region (52). When a character selection is received in the text display region (52), the input frame (511) corresponding to the selected character, and the character that is displayed in the text display region (52) and that corresponds to the selected character, are associated and enhanced.
