For a plant comprising a gas/air separation unit (2) supplying a boiler (7) and a boiler-fed unit for compression and/or purification of C0 (16, 20), the quantity of fumes sent to the compression and/or purification unit is modified according to the sale price of the electricity generated and/or the cost of venting the fumes.
