摘要 <p>The invention relates to the field of power engineering, and specifically to the calculation of the consumption of active electrical energy by consumers in AC electrical systems given non-sinusoidal voltage and current conditions, and can be used for calculating the consumption of active electrical energy by consumers with calculation of the losses of active electrical energy from the highest harmonics of voltages and currents in electrical systems. The technical result achieved by the invention consists in increasing the accuracy of the calculation of the consumption of active electrical energy consumed by a load given non-sinusoidal voltage and current conditions in electrical systems. The method for calculating the consumption of active electrical energy involves measuring the active power by continuously measuring the voltage and current in a connected load, multiplying the measured voltage and current with multiplication by the power factor of the load (the cosine of the angle of the load), then integrating the measured power over time, which also gives a calculation of the consumption of active electrical energy consumed by a load from a feed system given non-sinusoidal voltage and current conditions. The novel aspect of the method consists in that said multiplication is performed only for values of the fundamental (first) harmonic of the voltage and current and of the cosine of the angle between said values.</p>
